A comment on Davis Prepares for Possibility of Bus Crash

Negligent hiring is a part of the problem that is most easily solved. For a very modest amount, firms can conduct pre-employment screening background checks to weed out potential problems. In addition, many states offer ongoing notification of citations through their motor vehicle departments. There is really no good justification for having an unqualified or dangerous driver on the road operating a passenger bus and putting lives at risk.

A comment on U.S. Attorney General Announces New Pot Policy

Im a DEA goon and this is where I stand.
God didnt make weed, the devil did.
He made all the plants that make people high.

Pot is a gateway drug because I said so.

I am well into my fifties now and I am too stubborn to admit that all these years the hippies have been right and that I should have never listened to Elvis because I thought it would get me laid.

My job id much easier when I get to F with pot heads..especially the colored ones...

When I bring them back to the jail I dont get nearly as many weird looks as when I bring in the rich white boys...Besides, they have been educated more on their rights which makes my job harder too...so I bust the kids who I know wont give me any or much trouble...
Im simple like that.

I also havent ever been assaulted a super-hero on Meth. So I dont have any reason to come to terms with the actual differences each drug has.

I lump em all together ya know...Cuz its easier.

I hear some of my co-pigs..Umm fellow officers say that we should really know our enemy. They say that pot has proven itself to be less of a public threat than we once believed and that because of our vigilant fight against marijuana we have let Meth run a muck.

They say that Meth is worth fighting.
That we no longer have to go to Guatemala and Cambodia killing farmers but instead have to go to Connecticut and Washington to fight Pharmers.

I even heard this freaky scientist say that human beings have and always will try to achieve an altered state of perception and that getting rid of plant based drugs will not get rid of that desire...
That even if we fought Meth to oblivion someone would come up wit some other nasty concoction made from god-knows what chemicals and that allowing pot to be the publics no 1 choice is not only worth trying at this point but has been proven to aliviate...well you know what I mean.

Im a cop thats reluctance to accept the facts and Im even more unwilling to adjust my personal fears so as to better the community I do want to be safer for my children.

(They do love their kids folks...If only they knew their enemy.)

A comment on U.S. Attorney General Announces New Pot Policy

There is no other reason for marijuana to be illegal except the funding enjoyed by the legal sector, and the profits made by the pharmaceutical, alcohol, and tobacco industries which grossly contribute to political interests. Its as simple as that, America is being ran by lairs and cheaters, and its all funded by the hard working everyday American citizens. The people are being screwed, their lives ruined by DEA agents which are being paid by tax dollars (your own money) to ruin your life. So in a sense, were paying them to ruin our lives and take everything away from us.

A comment on U.S. Attorney General Announces New Pot Policy

As a nation we have the choice between either spending $20,000 a year to lock up a marijuana user or collecting sales tax on the individual's purchase of this widely used, relatively safe product. To collect taxes from the grow-your-own community, we could consider a $100 per year permit for a dozen plants.
It's time to put the criminal drug dealers out of business and let ordinary Americans grow a little marijuana in their own back yards.

A comment on Flight from Oroville to Butte Ends in Deadly Crash

Andrew: Thank you for your insight. That makes sense. Since there were kids aboard, they could have been running around, or at least, not properly balancing the plane. I wonder if the passengers knew what their responsibilities would be onboard the flight. When people get into a small plane like that I would think that they would be warned about what to do and what not to do since even the smallest imbalance can throw off small planes.

MT Native: That is pretty despicable, but sometimes people don't react well to death. He was probably nervous or stressed. But still, his LAST thought should have been about tourism. I don't think an accident like would actually KEEP people from going to Montana anyway.

This whole situation is very sad and I think John is right, what we need to do is learn from it and learn how to prevent it. Maybe people should take courses on small planes before riding in them, even a one-hour lecture from the pilot before they board about their responsibilities could help. Or could it? I don't know. I have never been on a small plane.

Following the tragedy, Montana's Gov. Brian Schweitzer says, Noone should be afraid to travel to Montana, Our roads are safe are airports are safe.....It's obvious all he thinks about is $$, tourism, etc.
I couldn't believe this statement came out of his mouth. I'm shocked. How about a statement of sympathy for those killed and their families Brian? You make all Montanan's look like uncaring jerks.

A comment on Flight from Oroville to Butte Ends in Deadly Crash

Just an educated guess, but it will probably turn out to have been a classic stall-spin accident, supported by eyewitness accounts of the final seconds of the flight. If the plane had been loaded properly with the maximum number of adult passengers, it would be difficult to do, but with extra children aboard, they might have been located far ahead or aft of the permissible center-of-gravity range. This might be tolerable at cruise conditions, but downright fatal during the slower speeds of takeoff or landing, especially in the thinner air at the mile-high elevation of Butte, Montana.

The Government know why it's a legal and they want to keep it that way off of Racism,Fear,Protection of Corporate Profits, Yellow Journalism,Ignorant,Incompetent, and/or Corrupt Legislators, Personal Career Advancement and Greed. More ...
Legalizing marijuana would be great, to all the ones don't agree DON'T DO IT is a choice their not saying once they legalize it everyone has to do it. Studies and proof among people who do smoke marijuana has no effects like alcohol and tobacco. If the government was so worry about the American People they wouldn't even had alcohol and tobacco out in the first place it just to show you they are hiding the truth from us. With these cheesy bogus commercial about making you lazy, your a loser, and wont be successful in life are all lies. Many Presidents, Athletes, Entertainers, and successful people have done it or doing it still an haven't fail it what there doing. Quit with the lies and all this stalling about "Are they going to legalize marijuana" an just do it all already. Have rules if anyone is caught more then there supposed to have fine them. If some people will like to grow in it in their own home make them pay for a permit permission to have two small planter pot, permits expires every 6 months make them pay every time if they don't comply fine them next strike take away their permit. No smoking in public if so fine them, anyone trafficking product take them away and fine them. If no one pays there fine threat them like regular people with tickets pay for put them or in jail. With these fine the states can collected more money and the police have more time to look for harder crimes and still control the issue if someone is not following the law. STOP all this nonsense putting people to jail for a plant that doesn't hurt, kill, effect, or get additive too

A comment on A Californian Assemblyman is Looking to Cash in on Pot

In some parts of California, medical marijuana dispensaries are available. These have actually cut back on the number of "nuggets" whisperers roaming the streets in these areas. The cause and effect is obvious. Why would someone continue to buy product of unknown quality and quantity from some shady 14 year old gang member when they could get a doctor's recommendation to patronize a dispensary?

Some people are afraid of the "message" that having well-run businesses selling marijuana sends. It sends the message that not only are these operations functional, but they attract less bums than liquor stores and bars do. This sends another clear message that drug warriors don't want us to know: medical marijuana patients are not the same as alcoholic bums. The loudest message that these places send which is the worst one for the anti-cannabis folks is that without the corner kids pushing illegal flowers to their peers, these same flowers become the boring medicinal herb that they actually are.

Nobody sees a line of high school kids outside of the herb store to pick up kava kava, opium lettuce, ephedra, etc. It's not because those herbs won't get you blasted high, they are just not very exciting.
