California Motorcylist Killed in Accident

A 65-year-old California man lost his life this morning in a fatal motorcycle accident near the Mt. Rushmore monument after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed head-on into an oncoming motorhome.

The accident happened at 10:25 a.m. on Highway 244, just three miles west of Mt. Rushmore, said South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Apparently, the motorcyclist failed to slow down for a curve and traveled into oncoming traffic, crashing a Texas man's motorhome. The motorcyclist had his helmet on but he died from fatal injuries sustained in the crash.

The victims name is being withheld pending family notification.
